Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about how LuckRoll works.

Each player gets 10 free lives per day, per game. A life is a single continuous run. Within one life, you keep playing and stacking consecutive wins. Your first loss ends that life and your streak resets for the next life. You don't lose your leaderboard position — your best streak that week is locked in.

Lives reset every day, so you always get another shot the next day.

Your leaderboard score for the week is your longest single-life streak — the most consecutive wins you achieved in one life, across any of your daily sessions that week.

Each game (Coin Toss, Rock-Paper-Scissors, and Hi-Lo) has its own leaderboard, so your scores are tracked separately.

Leaderboards run Monday through Sunday and reset every Monday at midnight Eastern Time (ET) — right after Sunday night ends. At that point, the week's winner is recorded and the leaderboard starts fresh for the new week.

We use a purely random number generator on our servers to decide each game's outcome against yours. The RNG is independent from your pick, and from its own previous outcomes — every flip and throw starts fresh, with no memory of what came before. We have no reason to rig the results — users are getting paid out every week either way!

Yes. Every flip and throw is determined entirely by our servers — the app on your phone never decides the result. This means no client-side manipulation is possible, not even by us.

Our database rules prevent any player (or app) from writing their own streak or result. Only our server-side code can write those values, and every play is logged with a server timestamp for auditing. Winners are verified against this history before any prize is issued.

VS mode is a head-to-head challenge: you and another player each play the exact same pre-determined run of CPU turns in one of the games, and the most wins takes the match. If it ends dead even, sudden death rounds continue until someone edges ahead.

Every match is provably fair: the computer's turns are locked in and cryptographically fingerprinted before anyone plays, then revealed at the end so both players can see they faced an identical run. VS matches are completely separate from prize play — they don't use lives and never count toward the weekly leaderboards.

Winners are the players with the longest single-life streaks in each game during the week. Every game (Coin Toss, Rock-Paper-Scissors, and Hi-Lo) pays its own top three: $50 for 1st, $20 for 2nd, and $5 for 3rd — $75 per game, every week.

If a game has fewer than three players with a streak that week, only the places that were actually reached are awarded.

Tie-breaker: If two or more players share a streak, the higher place goes to whichever player reached that streak length earliest, based on the server-recorded timestamp. See the Official Rules for full detail.

If you finish in the top three of a game's leaderboard when the week closes at midnight Monday ET, you've won a prize for that game. Here's exactly what happens next:

  1. You get a notification. We send you a push notification telling you that you won. Tapping it takes you straight to the claim screen.
  2. Your profile icon gets a red dot. If you miss the notification, open LuckRoll and you'll see a red dot on the profile icon in the top-right of the home screen. Tap it to open your profile.
  3. Tap your prize under “Your Winnings.” Your profile lists the prizes you've won, with the amount waiting to be claimed shown at the top.
  4. Enter your payment handle. Pick Venmo, PayPal, or Cash App and type in your handle for that app. That's it — that's the whole claim.
  5. We send the money. A real person here sends your prize to that handle, usually within a few days, and the prize gets marked Paid in the app.

No tax information is needed to claim. Claiming takes about 15 seconds and asks for nothing but your payment handle. Please double-check that handle — we send the prize to exactly what you type.

You choose how to get paid — Venmo, PayPal, or Cash App — right in the app, and we send your prize straight to the handle you enter, usually within a few days.

You do not need to send us any tax information to get paid. Tax forms only come into play if your total LuckRoll winnings pass $2,000 in a calendar year — see the next question. GoodAtSwift never stores your full payment credentials.

No — not to claim a prize. Claiming only asks for your Venmo, PayPal, or Cash App handle. There is no form to fill out and nothing to send us.

Tax information is required in one situation only: if your total LuckRoll winnings exceed $2,000 in a single calendar year. If you cross that threshold, we'll ask you for an IRS Form W-9 and issue you a 1099 for that year, because U.S. tax rules require us to report it. This is rare, and not the case for most players.

Under $2,000 in a year: no W-9, no 1099, no paperwork at all. Either way, any taxes owed on prize winnings are the winner's responsibility. See the Official Rules for the full terms.

Please see the Official Rules for eligibility limits and any restrictions on repeat winners. These details are part of the official contest terms.

LuckRoll is free to download and play. The app may offer optional in-app purchases for cosmetic or convenience features (such as username changes). There are no ads at launch.

Clovers are LuckRoll's free play-currency: you earn them just by playing, and spend them in the Store on cosmetic emblems to wear on the leaderboards. Crowns are the same idea for VS mode — earned only by playing head-to-head matches and spent on exclusive cosmetics. Neither is real money: they can't be bought, cashed out, or transferred, and they never affect your odds, lives, or prize eligibility.

Never. This is our most important rule. No purchase can ever buy, improve, or unlock a chance to win the prize. Extra lives for prize play cannot be purchased. Rerolls cannot be purchased. Access to higher prize pools cannot be purchased. Any future in-app purchase is cosmetic or convenience only — it has zero effect on prize eligibility or odds.

No. LuckRoll is a free-to-enter luck contest, not gambling. Traditional gambling requires placing something of value at risk. LuckRoll's prize competition requires no purchase, no entry fee, and no wager. You cannot lose money by playing.

LuckRoll is structured as a promotional sweepstakes/contest: no purchase necessary, free entry, with set prizes for the weekly top streaks. See the Official Rules for full details on eligibility and void-where-prohibited jurisdictions.

No. VS matches have no stake and no wager — nothing of value is ever at risk, there's no entry fee, and there's nothing to buy. Winning earns Crowns, a free cosmetic currency for exclusive gear in the Crown Shop. Crowns aren't real money: they can't be purchased, cashed out, or transferred, and VS results never affect the weekly cash prize competition in any way.

No. No purchase necessary. You are eligible to win the weekly prize just by playing — for free, with your free daily lives. A purchase is never required or beneficial to your odds.

LuckRoll is live on the App Store (iOS 17+) and Google Play (Android 8+) — free to download. It's currently available in the United States.

You can permanently delete your LuckRoll account and all of its data at any time, right from the app. Open LuckRoll, tap the profile icon in the top-right of the home screen, scroll down, and tap Delete Account — then confirm.

This permanently removes your account, username, streaks, game history, and all associated personal data. It can't be undone.

If you can no longer access the app, email support@luckroll.app from the address linked to your account and we'll delete it for you.

Thank you! To express your love for LuckRoll, you can rate us 5 stars on the app store of your choosing (rate on the App Store or rate on Google Play), and tell everybody you know about us. After all, the more users, the more games and bigger prizes we'll have!
